Livingston Hearts CFC has been awarded the Scottish Football Association's Quality Mark Standard Award for its contribution to the local community.
Chairman Mick Gillespie, secretary Robert Bickett and child protection office Pauline Cutkelvin are pictured above receiving the club's certificate. Behind them are (left to right), Neil Orr (SFA Community Development Manager), Gary Locke (former Heart of Midlothian captain) and Jim Grant (SFA Community Development Officer).
The Scottish FA Quality Mark is a national plan for youth football development initiative which supports grassroots club development. Via Quality Mark, the Scottish FA and its partners, Big lottery and McDonald’s, will work with clubs and schools to broaden youth and community participation and to enhance player, coach and volunteer development.
The next aim of Livingston Hearts is to achieve the SFA Quality Mark Development Award.
The main area of focus for the club to achieve the Development Award is development of coaches. Each Soccer 7's team within Livingston Hearts must have coaches who hold Level 1 2 and 3 Childrens Certificate.
The target is for coaches to have achieved the Level 3 Certificate by end of March 2010.
